Serrula Herkimer Diamond solid Gold ring

This is part of the Serrula Collection which means 'little saw' and is inspired by the Tibetan Cherry tree bark - a beautiful gold, copper colour.

I've had a few people ask what a Herkimer Diamond is......is it really a diamond? 
The answer is no, it is from the quartz family of gems. They are named Herkimer Diamonds due to:

1. Where they were first discovered (Herkimer county in New York)
2. Their clarity and natural faceting. 

As they are natural stones they may differ slightly in shape but all are double terminated, that is pointed at both ends. If you are interested in the crystal properties of Herkimer diamonds they are said to be a detoxificant that can energise, enliven and promote creativity. 

Dimensions: The band is approximately 1.5mm thick and the Herkimer diamond is approximately 4 to 6mm long.
